Tusculum Police Department Press Release
In response to ongoing concerns regarding public safety and nuisance activities, the Tusculum Police Department executed an Abatement of Nuisance on Thursday, May 30, at approximately 4:00 pm, targeting the Suburban / La Villa Motel located at 4825 East Andrew Johnson Highway. This decisive action follows a thorough assessment of the property’s impact on the community and aims to address issues affecting the well-being of residents and businesses in the area.
As part of the abatement process, the Tusculum Police Department has taken measures to expel individuals from the premises and secure the property, including boarding up doors and restricting access to the establishment. These actions are mandated pending a hearing in Chancery Court, during which the future operations of the Suburban / La Villa Motel will be determined.
“The safety and welfare of our community members are paramount,” stated Chief Danny Greene of the Tusculum Police Department. “We are committed to taking proactive steps to address nuisance properties and uphold the quality of life for all residents.”
The Suburban/La Villa Motel is required to cease operations until the scheduled hearing date, as mandated by the abatement order. The Tusculum Police Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with legal proceedings.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activities to the Tusculum Police Department, as community engagement is vital in maintaining a safe and thriving environment for all.
