A woman was found hiding in the closet of a home on the 300 block of Locust Street on Sunday afternoon during a warrant check. A man in the home was arrested after drug related items were found in his vehicle.
The Greeneville Police Department responded to the home around noon for a warrant check on Elizabeth Branch. Police were greeted by a man at the front door William Branch, who after a few questions let officers search the home for the woman. She was found hiding inside of a closet and was escorted into a police cruiser. She was arrested for her warrant on Failure to Appear and Failure to Pay Child Support.
Outside of the home there was an odor of Marijuana, reportedly coming from a vehicle that William Branch was standing by. A vehicle search was conducted and several items were found including 10 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana, a Marijuana pipe, grinder, two gabapentin pills inside an unmarked plastic container, seven THC 10 MG gummies, and a cigarette pack with what appeared to be a Marijuana blunt inside it.
William admitted the items and Marijuana were his and said he went to Virginia to buy it. He was also taken into custody and charged with Schedule V Drug Violations, Schedule VI Drug Violations, and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
