Several arrests were made last night, including weapon, drug and narcotic violations.
Police stopped a silver Toyota 4-Runner with a loud muffler at Kingsport Highway near East Andrew Johnson Highway around 10:30 Friday night.
The driver was identified as Jacob Tipton of Midway. A passenger stated her name was Brittany Robinson, who gave police a bag of marijuana when asked if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle. All of the occupants were asked to exit the 4-Runner and a search was conducted. Found were a blue bag in the floorboard of the driver seat containing approximately 12.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, split up into 3 separate baggies, a glass pipe, two cut straws, 1.5 grams of suspected heroin, several empty baggies, and a large glass pipe.
Tipton was placed under arrest and charged with several drug violations, loud muffler, and possessing a handgun during a felony.
Brittany Robinson of the Kingsport Highway, allegedly gave her name as Brittany Shelton during one point of the traffic stop. She was showing an active warrant for Violation of Probation and was taken into custody, and additionally charged with Criminal Impersonation.
A third passenger was released without charges.
