Theft was reported from a property owner on the 3800 block of Ottway Road in Greeneville Wednesday afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office spoke with the owner who said a witness saw someone taking down a shed carport. The suspect was questioned and stated they purchased the carport but when the witness asked if they had permission from the owner, the suspect said no and then left in a hurry.
According to the property owner, when he arrived at the home building materials were missing from the carport including tin roofing and a ridge cap. No suspects were known at the time of the report.
