The Hometown Market Place transition from the former Fatz Café is still on track and hitting their timeline for a completion in about seven weeks.
The developer that bought the property Amos Stoltzfus said he plans to open by the end of June or early July, weather permitting and without any unforeseen circumstances that could cause a delay. Demolition started in mid January. The main area inside of the building was torn out and gutted. Stoltzfus said the bathroom layout was basically left the same and previously said they will use the pre-existing kitchen that was used for Fatz Café. Painting inside was getting done as of last week and the outside was getting a new look this week. A crew is now moving along to get the flooring done inside.
Hometown Market Place is a family run business that cooks and prepares hot meals, smoked meat, and salads. It will include a deli and a bakery. The business is similar to a grocery store or could be compared to a new farmers market type of style. There is no indoor dining and everything is to go. Hours have been set for Wednesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM.
The business will look to hire employees soon and we will keep you posted on how to get an application and who to reach out to when that time comes. Radio Greeneville will get a sneak peak of the inside. We’ll share those pictures and let you know when they are ready to start accepting applications.
