Texas Roadhouse developers have been working at the new ‘Shops of Greeneville’ site since last year and say they anticipate having an opening date of October 11th, 2024. The restaurant will be at the intersection of U.S. 11E and Harlan Street, across from Walmart. The restaurant will be about 9,000 square feet and includes 221 parking spaces.
Planning Administrator for the Town of Greeneville Randy Davenport attended the Greeneville City Council meeting on Tuesday and spoke with the council regarding some of the planned projects in town. Davenport works with developers and the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission. He wanted to remind council members on some timelines for the projects that will be adding to the traffic congestion in town, particularly on the 11-E. Texas Roadhouse will be one of those projects contributing to traffic.
A site plan for the 72 unit apartment complex planned on Harlan Street was submitted last week. The plan will have to go before the Municipal Planning Commission for approval before the developers can move forward. Davenport said they are ready to start working as soon as tomorrow. Grading for the site would begin in July if approved.
Seven Brew Drive-thru Coffee will be looking to get final approval so the business can officially open. The new KFC, which would be located on 3507 East Andrew Johnson Highway, is still on the agenda to get done. The restaurant is replacing the KFC located 1735 EAJH, according to Davenport. The site plan shows a building that is about 2,600 square feet with an entrance coming from the highway and a possible connection to Serral Drive.
Panda Express located at the Shops of Greeneville site is also still in the works and will be next to Texas Roadhouse. Davenport said he hopes the traffic signal recommended at the intersection of Serral Drive and U.S. 11E will be installed prior to the opening. In a previous meeting a frontage road was discussed. It will be added at the entrance of the new development through Harlan Street.
