A Cherry Street man was charged with drug violations.
Police officers were on a traffic stop around 11:00 PM Saturday, when they saw a male driving a bicycle without benefit of rear lights. Officers stopped the man on West Main near South Main Street.
The man identified himself as James Banks and when asked whether he was carrying illegal items, reportedly told officers he had a syringe and weed on him.
Officers found the syringe and a green, leafy substance in his front pocket, as well as a baggie with a white crystal-like substance suspected to be Meth.
Banks was placed under arrest and transported to jail without incident.
