Firefighters were called to Greene Mountain Friday afternoon around 2:30 PM to the report of a wildfire.
Camp Creek Volunteer Volunteer Fire Department made the initial response. The National Forest Service was also called in to help fight the fire.
High winds could complicate firefighting efforts, as it could make it difficult to bring in aerial support. Winds are expected to gust up to 25 miles per hour this afternoon.
Please avoid the area as firefighters will be approaching the fire from both ends of Greene Mountain Road. There are limited places for traffic and any vehicles other than emergency responders could cause problems.
Thank you to Rhonda Andrus for the photos.
