The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon Greene County’s unemployment rate in February was 3.5 percent, down from 4.7 percent in January.
Greene County’s rate a year ago was 4.6 percent.
The unemployment rate for February 2024 dropped in all 95 Tennessee counties. Moore County had the lowest rate at 1.9 percent, while Cocke County had the highest at 4.7 percent.
The state unemployment rate for February was 3.3 percent, down from 3.5 percent in January. The state’s all-time low seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 3.1 percent, which was recorded during April, May and June in 2023.
