The suspect fled the scene late Monday night after crashing a stolen vehicle.
A Twin Barns Road resident reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department Monday that his Infiniti car had been stolen. The victim said he let the suspect come over to his residence on Sunday night. The victim fell asleep around 2:00 AM. When he woke up later that morning, he discovered his car was missing. He went to his bedroom and saw the keys were gone.
Around 10:45 PM Monday, the Greeneville Police Department came behind the stolen car. A traffic stop was attempted, but the suspect sped off and turned down Church Street. The vehicle crashed into a tree and the suspect reportedly fled the scene.
