The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon the state’s unemployment rate dropped to a near record-low level in February.
Tennessee’s rate for February was 3.3 percent, down from 3.5 percent in January. The state’s all-time low seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 3.1 percent, which was recorded during April, May and June in 2023.
Total nonfarm employment in the state increased by around 10,000 jobs between January and February.
The national unemployment rate for February was 3.9 percent, up from 3.7 percent in January.
