The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a weather advisory for Greene County as a significant weather system approaches the area. It’s expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain starting Friday afternoon and lasting until mid-day Saturday.
A Wind Advisory has been issued from 4 am Friday until 2 am on Saturday for the mountains and adjacent foothills. Gusts between 40 to 50 mph are forecasted, with a total rainfall of half to one inch from Friday afternoon through mid-day Saturday.

As the system moves out on Saturday night, the weather is predicted to become partly cloudy, with a low around 30 degrees. The north wind will persist, blowing between 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Sunday, however, is expected to bring a change in weather conditions with sunny skies and a high near 65 degrees.
