A Greeneville man was arrested for DUI 1st offense after wrecking his vehicle Thursday night.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 5000 block of Warrensburg Road around 10:00 PM on the report of a man walking around in a driveway. Deputies made contact with Terry Rogers of Poplar Springs Road, who was unloading items out of the back of his Chevy Tahoe. A trail of fluids was on the roadway leading to a vehicle, which had a busted right front tire.
Rogers initially told deputies that he just had a flat tire, but then he admitted to running off the roadway into a ditch. An odor of alcohol was detected on Rogers and he appeared intoxicated. Rogers then reportedly admitted to drinking while he was driving home. He refused to complete field sobriety tests. Two unopened beers were found in his vehicle.
Rogers was transported to the Greene County Detention Center, where he blew a .203 on a breathalyzer test. He had cuts on his face apparently from the accident, but reportedly refused treatment from EMS.
