AAA: Greeneville 60 Northview Academy 56 ot
Greeneville, Tn – The Greeneville Lady Devils have punched their ticket to the Glass House in Murfreesboro for a third straight year with an overtime win against Northview Academy. Kyla Jobe and Anna Shaw paced the offensive attack with 17 points each. Jobe hit a free throw in regulation with :19 remaining and the potential shot by Jordan White of Northview was off target and the game went an extra four minutes. Northview scored the first points of overtime, but an and-one by Abby Adkins gave Greeneville a lead they would not relinquish in the overtime period. Anna Shaw scored the final four points to secure Greeneville’s 9th overall trip to the State Tournament. Greeneville will play Upperman, who defeated Signal Mountain 41-22. Upperman and Greeneville last met in the 2022 Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic. Greeneville and Upperman have met six times, the last three meetings at the Ladies Classic, with Greeneville winning the last two match ups. Greeneville and Upperman will play Thursday night at the Murphy Center beginning at 8:15pm eastern / 7:15pm central. A: North Greene 33 Midway 31
Ten Mile, Tn – The North Greene Lady Huskies are dancing into the Elite 8 for a fifth consecutive year and the program’s ninth appearance. The last time the Lady Huskies played Midway was 2019, which was the last season in which the Lady Huskies failed to make a State Appearance and was also the last time Midway advanced to the State Tournament. In the postseason, the Lady Huskies have been winning implementing a “defense first – offense optional” game plan in order to survive and advance, and the results have yielded another State appearance for James Buchannan’s Huskies for an 8th time in his coaching tenure at the Baileyton school. Haley Bailey, Ms Basketball Finalist, led North Greene with 13 points and Hannah Miller added 7 points in the win. Despite North Greene’s inability to make their final eight free throws in the final two minutes of the game, the Lady Huskies get their second consecutive road win in a State Sectional. The Lady Huskies won last year 40-39 at Oneida. North Greene will open the State Tournament on Wednesday against Greenfield at 5pm eastern / 4pm central.
