The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon the state’s unemployment rate in January was 3.5 percent, up slightly from 3.4 percent in December.
The state’s rate a year ago was 3.6 percent.
Employers added 9,900 new nonfarm jobs between December and January.
The national unemployment rate for January was 3.7, unchanged from December.
County unemployment data will be released next week.
