According to the National Weather Service, a strong cold front will sweep through the Greene County area between late this morning and early this afternoon.
Ahead of the front, widespread strong winds will continue, especially in the higher terrain. A Wind Advisory is in effect and has been extended until 4 PM today for Northwest Greene County. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph are possible.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Additionally, a line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will accompany the front as it moves through today. Some of these could be strong enough to produce some isolated damaging wind gusts.
