A man was arrested with public intoxication Monday after drunkenness was reported at a Burger King on the Andrew Johnson Highway.
The Greeneville Police Department responded after 3 PM and found the suspect, Todd Newland Pope of North Carolina, who was reportedly on the floor yelling at himself. Pope had slurred speech and could barely walk, according to the report. He was unable to perform sobriety tests due to almost falling down.
He was placed into handcuffs as officers believe he was a danger to himself and the public, and was then taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
