A Greeneville man involved in an accident last night was found trapped inside a vehicle and was taken to the hospital for his injuries, once released he was taken to the Greene County Jail for reportedly driving under the influence.
According to the report, officers responded to the 1300 block of West Andrew Johnson Highway and found a Jeep on its side in the median, with the driver Thomas S. Larkin trapped inside. The Greeneville Police Department had to request the Rescue Squad’s assistance for removal.
About 10 empty airplane bottles of Fireball liquor were allegedly found inside the vehicle. The report states Larkin was unable to perform sobriety tests as he was injured during the crash. A search warrant was obtained due to Larkin not consenting to a blood draw.
He was transported to the Medical Center in Johnson City for his injuries and was then taken to the Greene County Jail. Officers charged him with Driving Under the Influence and Implied Consent.
