A Greeneville man was arrested following a traffic stop at the West Summer Street and Blue Springs Parkway intersection Tuesday afternoon.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department saw a driver not wearing a seatbelt around 2:30 PM and stopped the car. As the vehicle pulled over, the driver, identified as Jerry Malone of Hillcrest Street, appeared to be putting his seatbelt on. A record checked showed he was only valid to drive with an ignition interlock device. Malone stated his did not have a device on the vehicle.
He gave consent for the officer to search the car. A small baggie containing 3.5 grams of meth, two pipes, a straw with drug residue, and a small container of 7.4 grams of an unknown substance were found.
Malone was charged with the manufacture of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and violation of the seat belt law.
