There was a fire Monday night on the 2200 block of Hillcut Road where a barn and farm equipment was burned.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s report, the owner states he was feeding his cattle at around 1 PM. Later that day after 6 PM, he said he was at his home and saw smoke coming from the barn. Not much information was provided in the report although it does state a Fire Investigator was requested to the scene. No injuries were listed.
Radio Greeneville spoke with Chief of Caney Branch Volunteer Fire Department and Chief of the Greene County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments Ryan Holt, who said the fire is under investigation.
Holt said in addition to the Sheriff’s Department, the Caney Branch Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Sunnyside, Orebank, and St. James VFD’s also responded to the scene.
