According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, a Wind Advisory is in effect for the mountains of South East Greene County from 4 PM this afternoon to noon on Tuesday.
South winds may gust up to 45 mph at times from this afternoon and evening, then shift to a southwest direction tonight but remain gusty through Tuesday morning. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Light snow accumulations are expected in the higher elevations of East Tennessee tonight into Tuesday morning. Between 1-3 inches of snow accumulation is possible.
Windy conditions in the mountains will continue into Tuesday morning, along with light snow accumulations in higher elevations of the mountains. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
