GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Tusculum University used a 10-goal barrage in the second half to pick up a 14-7 victory over Shorter University in non-conference women’s lacrosse Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
Lucy Brewer finished with three goals and an assist, and both Abby Lockwood and Liberty Jones scored three goals for the Pioneers (1-0), who outshot the Hawks (0-2) by a 34-14 margin. Kylie Marek added a goal and two assists and Zuza Stasiak had a goal and an assist for Tusculum, which also received goals from Jessie Carolin-Vandenberg, Emma Miller and Cassidy Bourne in the victory.
Tusculum will be on the road on Saturday, Feb. 10 to face Lee at 2 p.m. The Flames are 1-1 after beating UVA Wise 17-11 in their season opener on Saturday, and losing 21-12 to seventh-ranked Rollins on Tuesday, both at home.
