Plans for the new Fatz Café location are on their way.
Radio Greeneville spoke with Planning Director for the Town of Greeneville Randy Davenport, who says the Fatz Café building has officially been bought by a developer. We spoke with the new owner Amos Stoltzfus who said demolition on the property started in mid January for a new farmers market type of style building that will feature the new “Hometown Market Place.”
Hometown Market Place would be a family run business that cooks and prepares hot meals, smoked meat, salads, there will be a deli and a bakery. There is no indoor dining, everything is to go. It’s similar to a grocery store or the Yoder’s Country Market, according to Davenport.
The goal is to have the business up and running by late spring or early summer. Stoltzfus, the new owner and developer, has been in the food business for 27 years. He said right now crews are renovating, they will use the pre-existing kitchen that was in the Fatz Café building, but the main area will be torn out.
Hours have already been set for Wednesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM.
