Online Courses Offered through the Zoom Videoconferencing Platform
• Auctioneering 50-Hour (Apprenticeship), Feb. 1-March 14, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-10 p.m., $634.
This course meets the education requirements for Tennessee licensing. This class covers auctioneering basics in an easy-to-understand format that emphasizes ethics and professionalism. Upon completion of the course and passing the apprenticeship exam, students must submit an application for an apprentice license with payment to the Tennessee Auctioneer Commission for issuance of an apprenticeship license.
• Parenting and Divorce Online, Feb. 6 or Feb. 20, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $60.
This is the state-mandated parenting and divorce class for divorcing parents. This class teaches key communication skills that will lead to smooth co-parenting during and after the divorce. This class will make a divorce less traumatizing for all family members, especially children. This class is offered over the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
• SHRM CP/SCP Certification Preparation for Human Resource Professionals, Feb. 6-April 22, Tuesdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $1,595.
The class can be taken anywhere through Zoom and can be taken at Walters State campuses in Greeneville, Morristown and Sevierville virtually. This course covers four SHRM knowledge domains: people, organization, workplace, and strategy. Eight behavioral competences are also addressed: leadership and navigation, ethical practice, business acumen, relationship management, consultation, critical evaluation, global and cultural effectiveness, and communication.
• Microsoft Excel Level 2 will be offered on Feb. 27, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $150.
This course builds on the skills taught in Level 1. Students will learn how to work with multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently. The class covers advanced formatting and managing data, functions and formulas.
• Certified Supervisor, Feb. 13-April 30, 2-5 p.m., Tuesdays, $1,500.
This certification class will teach supervisors how to work efficiently and effectively with people and processes in an organization. The course is the result of a comprehensive analysis of the management profession which identified the skills and abilities necessary for competent supervision. Areas covered in the class are: planning and setting objectives; leading and motivating; organizing and controlling; quality control; problem solving and ethical decision making; managing groups and teams; staffing; training and appraising performance; customer service; communication; and accounting and finance. This class may also be attended on the Niswonger Campus.

Industrial Electricity and PLC Troubleshooting and Programming, Feb. 20-April 30, Tuesdays, 4-8 p.m., $1,995.
This course gives an overview of AC and DC electrical concepts. An emphasis is placed on troubleshooting concepts using schematics and measuring devices. The class also introduces programmable logic controllers, common input and output devices and programming topics such as program monitoring and using programming software as a troubleshooting tool.
