The Dense Fog Advisory has been extended until noon this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, expect visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. There will be hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
There are also periods of moderate to heavy rainfall coming today across the plateau, central and southern Tennessee valley. Flooding of streams and creeks, roadway flooding, and flooding of low-lying areas will be possible.
Another storm system will move across the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians Saturday bringing with it widespread rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Strong winds are also possible across the far east Tennessee Mountains and foothills Saturday.
Rain will change to snow across the higher elevations of the mountains Sunday afternoon and Sunday Night with light accumulation across the higher terrain. If driving today, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
