GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Tusculum University associate director of athletic communications Jim Miller will be honored by the College Sports Communicators with its prestigious 25-Year Award during the organization’s annual convention this summer in Las Vegas.
Miller is in his 13th year on the athletic communications staff at Tusculum and has been an invaluable member to the Greeneville and Greene County community for 15 years. While at Tusculum he assists in all aspects of the promotion and media relations for the University’s 23 intercollegiate sports and serves as the primary media contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s lacrosse, cross country and track & field.
The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native joined the Tusculum athletic staff and served for four years until 2014. He returned to the TU staff full time in 2016 and has served in his current role ever since. His athletic communications stints include Elizabethtown (Pa.) College, University of Delaware and the Middle Athletic Conference where he served as the league’s sports information director.
“This is an outstanding honor for one of the best in the business,” said Tusculum assistant athletic director Dom Donnelly. “He is one of the most talented professionals in the athletic communications field today and we are truly blessed to have him with us at Tusculum.”
Miller has served as the news director at Radio Greeneville, Inc. (WGRV, WIKQ, WSMG) for four years and has been a local and regional staple as the host of the popular High School Football Scoreboard Show since 2011.
His talents include providing play-by-play announcing for various Tusculum sporting events including baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball. He has shared his radio play-by-play talents for Greene County High School basketball games as well as the nationally-recognized Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic.
The CSC 25-Year Award is presented to members who have completed 25 years or more in the profession as of June 2024. Miller will be one of 18 CSC members who will be recognized at the June CSC UNITE24 convention in Las Vegas (June 9-12) at the Mandalay Bay Resort.
Miller and his wife Kristina, reside in Chuckey and are the proud parents of their daughter, Avery and son, Colton
