The Greene County Commission will meet for their rescheduled meeting this evening at 6 PM on the 3rd Floor Courtroom (Gail Jeffers) of the Greene County Courthouse, located on South Main Street.
Up for discussion according to the agenda, is a resolution to abolish the Office of Constable in Greene County (First Reading). The office was originally established to provide assistance and support to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office when there weren’t sufficient resources for backup support. Now with overall improvements, the office is no longer necessary.
Commissioners will consider authorization for the County Mayor to enter into an agreement to lease parking spaces at the former Takoma Hospital Building to Coolidge Street Partners.
Also on the agenda, is a resolution to remove Crow Fly Lane from the official Greene County Road list (Second Reading). There is a consideration to amend the Greene County Schools Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-24, for revenues and expenditures totaling more than $2.9M.
Additionally, commissioners will consider authorizing the Sheriff’s Department to donate two UHF Radio/Repeaters to the Cocke County Emergency Responder’s Association.
