The Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission granted Preliminary and Final approval on a site plan for Panda Express, a fast food Chinese Restaurant that will be located in the “Shops at Greeneville” retail development, near the intersection of Harlan Street and East Andrew Johnson Highway.
The completion of the project would coincide with the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant completion, intended for fall of 2024. The site plan indicates a 2,600 square foot building with indoor seating, a two lane drive-thru, parking for indoor seating, online pick-up, and employees. A traffic signal is going to be installed at the intersection of Serral Drive and U.S. 11E, which should also be ready around fall 2024. A frontage road will also be added at the entrance of the new development through Harlan Street, which will help with traffic congestion.
Another site plan was approved for a rental equipment storage yard, located at the intersection of Fairgrounds Road and Fairgrounds Circle. The site will provide storage for equipment associated with the Grand Rental Station Rental Company.
The Municipal Planning Commission additionally granted approval for a plat showing the removal of an ingress/egress easement at Planet Fitness, on 600 WAJH. The previous recorded plat indicated an easement located across the newly constructed building. Further research found the easement in question was removed previously, this approval corrects that error.
Moreover, Preliminary and Final approval was granted for a plat showing the combination of four lots for the McDonald’s property, located at 521 Tusculum Boulevard. The intent is to remove the internal lot lines on the property and combine the four parcels into one parcel. The Planning Commission previously approved a tear down and rebuild of McDonald’s. The construction project is to begin in April with a timeline of about three months, according to Planning Director Randy Davenport.
