An Afton man was charged with drug and firearm violations early this morning.
Police stopped a vehicle on West Bernard Avenue near the East McKee Street intersection around 1:30 this morning. The driver was identified as Tristan Borden of Afton. A handgun was spotted at Borden’s knee and he was asked to step out of the vehicle. Borden was then cited for driving on a suspended license and failure of the financial responsibility law.
A K-9 Officer alerted for narcotics on the vehicle during a free air sniff. A lockbox was found under the driver’s seat, containing a scale, baggies, and 26 grams of Methamphetamine. Two glass pipes with residue were also found within the vehicle.
Borden was placed under arrest for driving while in possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and felony possession of methamphetamine.
