A Greenville man fell through the ceiling of a home on Daisy Street and landed in the bedroom during a warrant check yesterday night.
Officers arrived at about 10:30 PM to search for Marcus Brown, who had an active warrant for Violation of Probation. A woman in the home let officers know Brown was not at the residence and they were welcome to search. While walking through the home officers noticed there was access to an attic through a bedroom closet. According to the report, it appeared as if someone had recently gone through the access and they could hear someone in the attic.
Officers believed it was the suspect Marcus Brown and called for him to come down but he reportedly did not respond. After entering the attic, Brown was found hiding in the insulation. While attempting to pull Brown out, he allegedly fell through the ceiling and into a bedroom. EMS was called as the suspect complained of back pain, and he was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center. He was charged for his warrant and resisting arrest.
The woman, Briana Shiflet of Greeneville, was charged with filing a false report as she lied to officers about Brown being at the residence. She was transported to Greene County Detention Center.
