A domestic assault occurred early Christmas Eve.
At around 5 a.m. Sunday, Greeneville police responded to a report of an assault at 211 Bohannon Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Stacia Vaught, who claimed that no assault occurred.
The other individual in the house claimed that while they were trying to sleep, Vaught was keeping them awake, which started an argument.
Vaught then claimed that during the argument, she was choked and pinned up against the wall, but stopped him because she had a knife in her hand.
After talking with the other individual in the house, it was found that Vaught was the aggressor and threatened to kill the other individual with a knife. The weapon was recovered under a pillow in the bedroom.
Vaught was placed under arrest for aggravated domestic assault and was transported to the Greene County Detention Center without further incident.
