A motor vehicle accident involving four vehicles was reported Wednesday around 4:45 PM near the 11E and Summer Street exit ramp intersection, two were reportedly sent to the hospital.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, all vehicles were traveling south on 11E onto the exit ramp to Summer Street. Three vehicles were stopped due to slowed traffic. Vehicle one, driven by Jackie Davis Jr., struck vehicle two in the rear, driven by Seeram Puran. Puran then struck vehicle three in the rear after the impact, which was driven by Haleigh Wykle. After being struck, Wykle exited the roadway and came to a final stop in a grassy area.
Puran, driver of vehicle two, also hit a fourth vehicle in the rear, which came to an uncontrolled stop on the shoulder of the road. Davis Jr., was not injured during the accident but the reports lists a charge for failure to exercise due care.
Two of the drivers were reportedly taken by EMS to the Johnson City Medical Center. Seeram Puran was injured during the accident and Haleigh Wykle reportedly had a possible injury. The roadway was closed for about over an hour.
