Six people were sent to the hospital this morning for evaluation after a chemical leak at 121 Hankins Street.
The Greeneville and South Greene Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene around 7:30 AM this morning and arrived at the Cheese Cake Factory, La Quesera Mexicana, off Snapps Ferry Road and Bohannan Avenue. Bohannan Avenue and Hankins Street was closed but Fire Chief Alan Shipley has reported that the scene is now clear and the leak has stopped.
No details were known at the time regarding what caused the leak. Shipley advised there were six people who were transported to Greeneville Community Hospital East for evaluation. More details will be provided as they become available.
