The Greene County Commission will meet this evening and consider a resolution for an Economic Impact Plan for the Mosheim Crossing Development.
The $15-20M investment and multi-use commercial development would be located off I-81, near exit 23. The 30 acres will include hotels, restaurants, retail stores and facilities, as well as a wastewater collection system and other infrastructure. The resolution states the plan would permit certain tax increment incentives. Proceeds would be used to pay the costs of traffic/road improvements, parking areas, sidewalks, and other public improvements. A recommendation was made to the county commission for approval.
Also to be discussed is the appropriation of funds in the amount of $610,000 to the Emergency Medical Services Department. The funds would be used to purchase two ambulances with POWERLOADS.
The commission will consider allocating funds to monitor and enforce the obligation of businesses/entities required to report, collect, and remit privilege taxes, for providing lodging and/or accommodations in Greene County. There will also be a discussion on proclamations including Human Trafficking Month in January.
The county commission meeting begins at 6 PM tonight in the Criminal Courtroom inside the Greene County Courthouse, located on 101 South Main Street.
