A traffic stop Thursday night resulted in a warrant arrest and drug charges.
Around 10:00 PM Thursday, police noticed a black Toyota Camry heading east on Andrew Johnson Highway near Lonesome Pine Trail, with one headlight out and no tag displayed.
Police stopped the car and spoke with the driver, Hayden Throckmorton of Chuckey Highway. Throckmorton alleged he had just bought the vehicle from Rogersville. A records check showed that Throckmorton had a warrant for violation of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry and he was placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle located a baggie containing 1.3 grams of a white crystal like substance suspected to be meth, in a cigarette pack found in a black purse that belonged to a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger, Brandy Lane of Forest Street, was placed under arrest for Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
Both were transported to the Detention Center without incident.
