Planning Director Randy Davenport updated the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission on some unfinished business in town including the possible 72-unit apartment complex by Harlan Street that was brought up earlier this year.
Judging from the last conversation developers had with the Planning Department, it seems like the apartment complex is most likely still happening. The complex if approved would be located behind ‘Shops at Greeneville’ location, specifically behind the proposed Texas Roadhouse Restaurant site. Developers previously mentioned clearing trees in that area before the build. More details could not be provided on the complex but Davenport did share there may be specific income requirements for housing.
There could also be two more restaurants coming to Greeneville and would be located in a vacant lot next to the Gondolier Italian Restaurant on 11E. One of the restaurants is Kentucky Fried Chicken. There is no confirmation on whether or not this proposed KFC would be replacing the one located on 1735 EAJH. The second restaurant has not been announced yet but there’s a sneaky suspicion that it may be Pizza Hut.
