The Greene County Sheriff’s Department recently arrested two individuals stemming from separate ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) cases.
Paul Winslow Mauney, 56, of Greeneville, turned himself in to the Greene County Detention Center on November 13, 2023, following a Greene County Grand Jury indictment for 8 counts of Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and 4 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Mauney was released on a $50,000 bond. His Criminal Court date is set for January 12, 2024.
Anthony Charles Roe, 24, of Greeneville, was arrested on October 21, 2023, following a Greene County Grand Jury indictment for 28 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Roe is currently being held at the Greene County Detention Center under an $80,000 bond. He has a Criminal Court date set for November 30, 2023.
Both cases are ICAC investigations. The investigations began after receiving CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning the upload of child sex abuse material. The investigations led to search warrants being executed at each suspect’s residence. Nothing in these investigations led detectives to believe there were any local child victims or any additional concerns for the public.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is an affiliate with the Tennessee ICAC Task Force. They are part of a national network of 61 coordinated task forces, representing more than 5,000 law enforcement agencies.
