A Greeneville man was arrested for resisting arrest and public intoxication Wednesday at a Gas Station on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
Officers were on the phone with the man who was reportedly making irrational statements and screaming at dispatch. The man was identified as Gary Porter who continued making statements like the President is his dad and he was the owner of all the land.
While officers spoke with Porter he allegedly became more irate. When asked if he took any illegal narcotics he replied, “Yes I have” and that he will use whatever, whenever he wants to. After some time, due to Porter screaming, cussing, and allegedly appearing to almost assault someone, officers tried detaining him.
Porter pulled away and wouldn’t follow commands, according to the report. He was finally placed into handcuffs and taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
