The driver involved in a crash Monday afternoon at the West Main and East Cutler Street intersection left the scene by the time officers arrived.
A witness who saw the crash spoke with the Greeneville Police Department and said a Ford Explorer pulling a red utility trailer was traveling east on West Main Street and struck a utility pole. According to the witness, the trailer was ripped from the vehicle and destroyed, and damage was done to the pole.
The report states the driver of the Explorer left but then came back to the scene. He and the suspect moved the trailer out of the roadway. The witness said the man was making a call and then left before officers arrived. No driver, trailer, or vehicle information was available at the time of the report.
