A man was charged with reckless burning at his Chuckey property Sunday.
Around 1:00 AM, the Greene County Sheriff’s and Nolichuckey Fire Departments responded to the 200 block of Fox Glen Road due to a grass fire that had gotten out of control. Upon arrival, multiple burn spots and piles were found around the back side of the house. The burn piles consisted of miscellaneous metal and tires. One burn pile looked to have several tires and was right next to a shed full of items, which also caught on fire.
Sheriff’s deputies and the fire department had already responded to the address numerous items due to Taylor Trantham recklessly setting fires all around his property. Trantham was given a summons to appear in court for reckless burning.
