According to the National Weather Service, a hard freeze is expected across most of the area tonight with temperatures falling into the 20s.
A Freeze Warning is in effect for the Tennessee Valley beginning at midnight tonight until 9 AM on Thursday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures will be as low as 25 degrees.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover aboveground pipes to protect them from freezing.
