One person was flown from the scene of an accident around 7:30 PM Sunday on East Andrew Johnson Highway at the Industrial Road intersection.
A Ford F150 driven by Jamie Fidencio turned left toward Industrial Road as a Dodge Dart driven by Bethany L. Hurley was coming through the intersection. Hurley’s car struck the front end of Fidencio’s truck, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Hurley was extricated from the vehicle and flown from the scene to the Johnson City Medical Center. Fidencio was not injured in the wreck.
Fidencio told police he had the green arrow to turn left onto Industrial Road. However, a witness said he was driving westbound when the accident happened and he had the greenlight as he was passing Dollar General Market.
Fidencio was issued a citation for failure to yield and no driver’s license.
