Drought conditions have covered all of Tennessee, according to data released this week by the U.S. Drought Monitor.
Over the past month, drought levels have increased in more than 90 percent of the state. All of East Tennessee is at the D0 level, which is abnormally dry, while the entire southern border is at the severe drought level D2.
According to historical data, Greene County last experienced abnormally dry conditions for a six-week period last November and December.
In addition, this is the first time since October, 2019 that the entire state has been in drought conditions at the same time. The last extended drought period statewide was in November and December of 2016.
