Reservations are now being taken for the Greene County Heritage Trust’s upcoming 50th Anniversary Early American Christmas Dinner.
The dramatic story of how the Hotel Brumley of the early 1980s was able to be transformed into the General Morgan Inn and Conference Center of today will be the focus of this year’s Dinner.
The featured speaker will be Gregg Jones, retired publisher of The Greeneville Sun. The title of his talk will be “Miracle on Main: How A Shared Dream Became The General Morgan Inn.”
The Dinner is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, November 30, in the ballroom of the General Morgan Inn. The date will be the exact 50th anniversary of the Heritage Trust’s first-ever Christmas Dinner, which was held on Nov. 30, 1973 at what was then the Hotel Brumley.
The evening will begin with light refreshments in the hotel lobby at 6 p.m., followed by a seated dinner and program at 6:30.
Reservations are $50 per person and can be made by contacting Carolyn Gregg by telephone at 639-3966; or by text at 329-4369; or by contacting a member of the Heritage Trust Board of Directors. Checks may be sent to: Greene County Heritage Trust, P.O. Box 1794, Greeneville TN, 37744.
