A catalytic converter was discovered missing from a moving truck earlier this week, according to Greeneville police.
Officers went to Beamer’s Flooring on the West Andrew Johnson Highway Friday afternoon and were told that on Sunday morning, a Chevy pickup parked on the lot was vandalized by someone throwing a hammer at the vehicle.
On Friday, employees went to start a U-Haul truck that they were renting and discovered that the catalytic converter had been taken off it. It is believed that both incidents occurred at the same time on Sunday morning.
Damage to the pickup truck was $500 and damage to the moving truck was estimated at $1,000.
