The Greeneville Police Department responded to Tusculum Boulevard Thursday on the report of an accident with a semi truck hitting a fire hydrant.
According to the report, the semi was driven by Theresa Tadlock of Knoxville. When questioned by officers Tadlock originally stated she was not involved in an accident and she was just looking for a location to pick up her cargo.
Based on the report it states Tadlock was on Fry Street and made a right turn onto Royal Street when she allegedly struck a stop sign and mailbox, knocking both over. The report also states she hit a pipe and fire hydrant, which sustained minimal damage and scratches.
After further investigation, officers observed blue paint on the passenger side wheel, which matched the paint on the fire hydrant. The wheel of the semi had a bent rim and a punctured tire. Tadlock was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and was issued a summons to appear n court.
