A Mosheim woman was arrested Sunday morning after evading officers and driving under the influence.
Around 4 AM a vehicle was seen traveling with no headlights on the West Andrew Johnson Highway. An officer got behind the vehicle when the driver reportedly drove off into a median, almost striking a roadwork sign. According to the report, the vehicle then got back on the road and was swerving between lanes, almost running off the side of the road again.
A traffic stop was finally initiated near Midway Road in Mosheim. The driver was identified as Rachel Gilbert, who allegedly had an odor of alcohol but stated she did not drink all day. After performing poorly on sobriety tests, she was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI.
While at the Greene County Detention Center she blew a 0.202. She was charged with DUI.
