Tusculum University quarterback Matthew Palazzo has been named the Tennessee Sportswriters Association Offensive College Football Player of the Week.
Palazzo, a sophomore from Greeneville, Tennessee, accounted for four touchdowns in Tusculum’s 35-21 South Atlantic Conference win over Catawba on Saturday.
He went 23-for-33 for 226 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TD runs, giving him four on the season (2nd in SAC / 26th in NCAA II). For his efforts, he was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week as well.
The Pioneers (2-2, 2-0 SAC) are off to their first 2-0 league start since 2007. Tusculum returns to action on Saturday when they host Barton College at 2 p.m.
