A man from Greeneville was arrested for being in possession of a handgun while driving under the influence on Wednesday.
Officers reportedly observed a truck traveling through the emergency lane and the middle of the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Jimmy Rich. An odor of alcohol was detected, Rich was asked to perform sobriety tests.
According to the report, Rich had a hard time keeping his balance and did poorly on the tests. During inventory of his truck, a pistol was found in the center console. A search warrant for his blood was also served, due to him refusing implied consent. Rich was arrested and transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
