Deputies responded to a structure fire Sunday night where a barn was fully engulfed in flames on Rheatown Road.
According to the report, the complainant who lives nearby saw the fire and said it appeared that a tractor parked in the barn caught fire, causing the whole barn to engulf in flames. This structure fire is the second in the area in the past two weeks according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, and criminal activity can’t be ruled out as a factor.
After speaking with the victim and neighbors, it was discovered there is an individual who worked for the victim that was involved in another fire nearby. Him and the victim have reportedly had altercations and there have been threats of burning the victim’s house.
Newmansville Fire Department Chief requested a fire investigator to the scene. The fire is under investigation.
